Periods, commas, exclamation points, parentheses, brackets, hyphens, these are all punctuation marks that serve a purpose in writing and communication. But what if they could also be tools in expressing our bodies poetically? In this workshop, Tea Gerbeza will lead explorations in how we might invent ways punctuation stands in for the body and its ranges of sensations, feelings, and memories, be it pain, movement, or pleasure. Participants will be encouraged to forge their own body-grammar by poetically investigating questions like how can our bodies make themselves known on the page? At the end of the workshop, participants will be encouraged to share how a personalized body-grammar is an act of reclamation, of connection with the body. Join Tea on February 26 from 7-9PM at the RPL downtown for a poetically fun time!
